Created for the 4th Erindale Discord Game Jam.
We teamed up to create game with Unity, and collaborated using Plastic SCM/Unity Version Control.
Poly Snatchers is a Noir Murder Mystery Game with Pixelated PS1 Optics.
I created a whole bunch of props for, using Blender, Substance and Speedtree.
Designed the the Greenhouse/Park-Area and helped with the Level Design around town.
Additionally, I created a few simple VFX for the props, and a simple random-instancer-script for randomly spawn pots and plants to the level.
Time: 3-4weeks.
(WebGl Build is available too, so you can test it out, without needing to download)
(Blender)
(Blender - Geometry Nodes)
(Wind Shader - Unity)
The Potted Plants are intractable, destructible and randomly instanced to the level with a simple script i created.
(SpeedTree)
Very Low Poly to go with the retro look - 1352 to 688 Tris; for the biggest and smallest individuals
For composition I needed a bigger hero asset-plant in center, and quickly created this bonsai with the help of SpeedTree's Freehand Tool. Reusing the same textures as the trees and smaller areas of the atlas.
Minimalistic Low Poly Hedge for the Maze - Created with textures, I quickly captured in my garden and processed with Sampler
Dirt piles, can't miss here!
These garden-tools been made in collaboration with Brian, who did a great job modeling these. I took it from there and optimized, unwrapped, textured and added them to the game.
Decals
Created with Substance Designer, Sampler and CC0 Stock
Decor to put on Walls (or buildings) to add variation, and make the walls surrounding the greenhouse/park area stand out.
Jerrycan, with Explosion Vfx
Calming - Simple coffee Vfx
It was a great experience as always, to work in a small team on such a project and to dip a toe into Vfx and scripting as well. Handling assets through the whole pipeline.
